Competitive Mobile Legends is back in Malaysia with a bang (bang)! The professional league, MPL Malaysia, is back with its 14th season, kicking off on September 7. The Regular Season lasts six weeks before the all-important Playoffs begin towards the end of October.

Ten professional MLBB teams will compete for the lion's share of the $100K prize pool, with the top two teams earning a slot in the M6 World Championship. The Selangor Red Giants are the current defending champions; will their reign continue ahead of other powerhouse teams like HomeBois and TODAK?

MPL MY Season 14: Format

Regular Season (September 7 - October 13)

All ten teams compete in a single round-robin format, where all matches are Bo3. The teams will earn points based on their games and results according to the scoring system outlined below:

• 3 points for winning 2-0 games
• 2 points for winning 2-1 games
• 1 point for losing 1-2 games
• 0 points for losing 0-2 games

The top six teams will advance to the MPL MY S14 Playoffs, while the remaining four teams are eliminated.

Six teams will compete in a hybrid elimination format. The 1st and 2nd seeded teams from the Regular Season begin in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. The 3rd through to 6th placed teams start in the Play-In round.

All Playoff matches are played as a Bo5, except the Grand Final, which is a Bo7 series. The MPL MY S14 champion qualifies for the M6 World Championship in November/December, while the runner-up qualifies for the M6 Wildcard Stage.

MPL MY Season 14: Teams

Unlike other MPL regional tournaments like MPL Philippines and MPL Indonesia, which have eight and nine teams, respectively, MPL Malaysia Season 14 boasts 10 teams competing.

After a successful summer in MSC 2024 and MLBB SPS, Selangor Red Giants are the current MPL Malaysia defending champions looking to extend their win streak. Meanwhile, RED Esports MY are making a comeback after being relegated in Season 12 with a 10th-place finish. They have fought their way back to the S-Tier tournament by finishing 1st in the MLBB Academy League Malaysia (MAL MY S1).
